Is a fractional CFO the same as a fractional finance director?
Yes. CFO is the American title and is becoming common in the UK; finance director is what most UK founder-led companies say. The role is the same: a senior finance leader, part-time, for a fixed monthly fee.
Will you come to board or leadership meetings?
Yes. Board and leadership meetings are part of the package, virtually or in person by arrangement.
Can you help us raise funding or talk to the bank?
Yes. Funding and banking support is included: preparing the numbers, the forecast and the case, and being in the room for the conversation.
Is there a minimum term?
Every package starts with an initial three-month term. It takes a few months to understand your company and start putting changes in place, so that’s when you’ll begin to see real results. After that, packages are billed monthly in advance and run month to month. Notice is one month on Finance Partner and two months on Financial Controller and Finance Director, in writing.
